Information for workshop providers

How listings are sourced

A scheduled background job reads the same public pages any visitor can open in a browser — typically a studio's public class index — on a conservative schedule. Between runs, visitors read our stored copy, so browsing this directory generates no traffic to your site.

• We identify ourselves with a descriptive user agent naming this service and a contact URL. You can block it by name.
• We honour robots.txt and any crawl-delay it specifies, and apply our own delay between requests on top of that.
• We use conditional requests (ETag / Last-Modified), so an unchanged page costs you a 304 rather than a full page load.
• If we receive a 401, 403, or 429 we stop. We do not retry harder, rotate identities, change user agents, or route around a block.
• We never log in, never submit a form, never use credentials, and never request a page that requires an account.
• We do not solve or bypass CAPTCHAs or any other access control.

What we index

Only short, factual event details, and only when they are publicly displayed:

• workshop or event title (short — an identifier, not a copy of your copy)
• casting director or guest name
• date, start time, and time zone
• online or in-person format
• city or location, when publicly listed
• price, when publicly listed
• your company name, as the credited host
• the original registration URL and the public listing page it came from
• availability status, only when clearly displayed
• the date and time we last checked the listing

What we never collect

The following are deliberately excluded from our data model — there is no database column for them, and the storage layer strips them if an adapter ever produced them:

• full workshop descriptions and any long-form promotional copy
• guest or casting director biographies
• testimonials and reviews
• images of any kind — photographs, headshots, logos, or artwork
• video and audio
• student, member, or customer information
• anything visible only to a signed-in account
• anything behind a login, paywall, or other access control

Users are sent to you

Every listing carries a prominent “Register” button pointing at your own page, and names your company on the card as the host. We do not proxy, frame, mirror, or reproduce your registration flow, and we take no payment for your workshops. All registration and payment happens on your website, under your terms.

Requesting a correction, or removal

Email hello@actorbuddy.com from an address at your company's domain, or use the contact page. Tell us which of the following you want, and include the relevant URLs:

• Correct a listing — we will re-check it against your page and fix or remove it.
• Remove specific listings — we will block those URLs; they stop appearing and are not re-added by a later refresh.
• Remove your company entirely — we will disable the source. All of your listings disappear from the site and we stop making any request to your servers.
• Block our crawler yourself — add a robots.txt rule for ActorBuddyWorkshopBot, or block it at your edge. We will honour it on the next run without any message to us.

We aim to action opt-out requests within [[ SET YOUR RESPONSE-TIME COMMITMENT, e.g. 2 business days ]]. Removal takes effect on the site as soon as the change is deployed and does not require waiting for the next refresh.

Trademarks

Your company name, workshop names, and marks remain yours. We use them only to identify whose event a listing describes. We do not display your logo or any of your imagery, and we make no claim of affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement. See our copyright page to report material you believe we have reproduced.
